Fair Haven Landscaping was established in 2013. Our goal is to provide high quality, functionally designed landscapes for people; using our combined industry experience and professional certification to back our work. In the same way that a Fair Haven is a place of calm and rest for ships to anchor, we want the spaces we design and build to function as places of rest and enjoyment for our clients.
Our motto: Firmitas, Utilitas, Venustas is taken from the Roman Architect, Vetruvias’ writings in the first century BC. He identified strength, functionality and beauty as the cornerstones of architecture; and we agree that these should be the basis of our designs as well. We have a core crew of Journeymen that comprise our company and strive for employee retention so that our quality of work remains consistent and predictable. |
THE CORE CREW
Elizabeth Kawahara, RSEDesign Consultant/Project Manager, and Certified Pesticide Applicator
Originally from a farm in Central Alberta, Elizabeth has always been drawn to the outdoors and discovered a passion for landscaping in 2007. She apprenticed with a company that specialized in cobble stone work and residential design/build. Watching landscapes form from an idea and develop over the years is her favourite part of work in this industry. Although her role is mostly administrative, getting out to do consulting and design work remains a highlight!

Kirsten Huynh, RSEDesign Consultant/Project Manager
Kirsten found her way into landscaping in 2013 while looking for a career change. She was attracted to the work outdoors and particularly enjoys building patios. The transformation is nearly instantaneous and each one is a little bit different. After several years building the necessary skills in the field, Kirsten has transitioned to a partial administrative role and helps with design consulting and project management.

Peyton PedersenMaintenance and Softscape Lead Hand
Peyton began working with FHL in 2020 as a summer job. She has built skills in turfgrass management, pruning, and herbaceous plant management. When she's not gardening, she can be found out with the construction crew cutting pavers, planting, and helping with any jobs that need doing. Although she has decided to pursue another long term career path, she continues to work with us in our maintenance and softscape division when she is not in school.

Mat is passionate about creating functional and sustainable landscapes; and works tirelessly to keep our trucks, trailers and tools working for us. When he's not doing fabrication and repair in the shop, he can be found doing tree removals, managing our supply chain and running our pesticide operations. |
